History
Central Christian Church has a rich history in Greene County. The congregation was established in the county in 1886. The two-story brick church located a block north of Lincoln Way on Highway 4 (Elm Street) was built in 1915. A 70 ft. x 32 ft. addition was constructed on the south side of the church in 1952. A recent update was the installation of an elevator.

Central Christian Church of Jefferson is affiliated with The Christian Church (The Disciples of Christ). The Disciples of Christ is a denomination within America and Canada today. Commonly referred to as the DOC (Disciples of Christ), their mission statement is “to be and to share the Good News of Jesus Christ, witnessing, loving and serving from our doorsteps ‘to the ends of the earth.”
Moreover, the DOC reports their vision to be “a faithful, growing church, that demonstrates true community, deep Christian spirituality and a passion for justice.”
